I can’t believe it’s the last day of the yearโฆ Can you??
This year, I’ve managed to send out holiday greeting cards to our family and friends.
For someone who designs greeting cards for a living, I’m terrible at sending people cards ๐ so I’m glad I finally fixed that!
Inside the card, we included a summary of what we’ve done in 2017. It’s short and sweet, and I thought you might enjoy reading our little updates, too.
I enjoyed reviewing our year – if I’m not intentional about it, I’d never take the time to think about our accomplishments. It all seemed like a blur until I wrote them all down!
How has your year been? What are some of the highlights? If you have any updates, hit reply and tell me ๐
Have a happy and safe New Year! I’m so grateful for your support this year and look forward to sharing my journey with you in 2018!
This summer, I created a custom illustrated portrait for my friend Stacy , who writes an awesome urban homesteading blog, Seattle Seedling , for their lovely wedding.ย Stacy is full of joy and positive energy – I can’t help but being inspired when I see what she’s been up to.ย When I see all of her accomplishments on top of her full time job, I quit making the excuse of “I don’t have time to do XYZ.”ย It reminds me that I have to make time to do what’s important to me!!
Anyway, Stacy is a lovely person, and I am so happy that they have found each other!!ย I tried to capture their personality and outpouring of love in this portrait.ย Their little Yorkie, Sprocket, and one of their chickens are also featured in this piece ๐ย And, bunting is her thing โค
Here is a couple of photos of the portrait from their lovely wedding!
She also gave me this lovely review:
“I absolutely love the drawing that Yuko created for my fiance and me for our wedding. I intended to use it for thank you cards, but loved it so much I decided to use it as decor at the cake table as well! With a few ideas and pictures as inspiration, she created a unique and colorful piece of art that totally captures our love and personality!โ
May your life together be filled with joy and many, many blessings! xoxo
He is a Permaculture designer/educator/author and currently runs a company called Terra Phoenix Design.ย I choose to do a branding and logo design for him as an individual because…why not?
Here are my three concepts!ใใใใกใใ๏ผใคใฎใใถใคใณใงใ๏ผ
The Portrait!The Name!The Acorn!
My favorite is definitely the portrait.ย He has such a cute smile ๐ย I modified the portrait and made his facebook profile picture!ย It is a lot warmer and shows his personality well, I think.
I was in need of good head shots to use on my website etc, so I had asked my good friend Dan to come over and take photos of me in my home office/studio!
Dan was one of the people who took beautiful photos at our wedding last summer, and I knew she was the right person for the job!ย Plus she’s just a great person to be around ๐
Without further ado, here are some of the photos of me, my work/creative space, and of course, my kitty.ย I’m very happy with how these images turned out!
